Chedworth, Gloucestershire

Gigaclear is one of the fastest and most reliable broadband networks delivered only to rural areas of England. With the experienced help of Complete Utilities, Gigaclear (working on a project called Fastershire*) have been able to connect pure fibre broadband to this rural community.

We worked closely with the residents of Chedworth and received excellent feedback from many in the local area. Below is an excerpt from and email received from the Vice-Chair of Chedworth Village Hall Committee.

*Fastershire is a partnership between Gloucestershire County Council and Herefordshire Council to build a world class broadband network for the two counties. The first phase of the project, working with BT, has already provided fibre broadband to 43,188 homes and businesses in Gloucestershire, upgrading 193 cabinets in 40 exchange areas.

Wales and West Utilities

Reinstatement framework contract, 3 years, £3.6m

With a start date of January 2014, this ongoing project is yet another example of our high performance standards. Working with Wales and West Utilities, we are helping to deliver a zero level of temporary reinstatement, as part of their first time reinstatement initiative. During the first quarter, 2014, our teams have achieved the best results across the board, with a reinstatement decrease of 66%, outperforming any other supplier.

With just 2 weeks’ notice, having been let down by another provider, we were able to plan and mobilise our teams. Using our existing robust processes and can-do attitude, we were able to deliver a project on time and on budget at exceptionally short notice.

33kv Power undergrounding scheme, 10km, £500k

With a start date of October 2013, this project was planned to be a straight-forward implementation. However, with the wettest winter since records began, the projects were brought to a stand-still for an entire month during December 2013 / January 2014. With an instruction from our client that the original deadline could not be moved, we swiftly moved to change the method in which we delivered this project. Calling upon our own fleet of machinery, we could quickly bring larger, more powerful machinery on-site, as well as pull together extra teams.

The outcome of our efforts was that the project was brought in, with no over-run and even took into account a 1.5km extension.

11kv power refurbishment / upgrading scheme, 4km, £640km

Working with high security clearance and stringent processes, our teams started a major upgrade to a High Voltage system on an MOD base in January 2014. With the project set to last 14 weeks, it was vital for our staff to get it right first time and engage fully with all stakeholders at all times.
